I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes
24x24
Acrylic on Canvas, paper, gel pen
"I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes," is a tribute to the divine feminine, created before I had stopped going to church (it's been a couple of years now) and before I was quite comfortable with this sort of imagery in my work. It was a bold move for me at the time and I love the way she turned out. The figure is kneeling, arms outstretched, seeking help from another realm, an unseen and infrequently-accessed plane of consciousness.
