The View From Mount Lassen
36x36 inches
Acrylic paint on varnished, gallery-wrapped canvas
I summited Mount Lassen with some friends and my husband a couple of years back - it was an incredible experience! I didn’t take many photos at the top but I did keep a feeling of being on top of the world - I remember gorgeous jewels of lakes and rough red and black volcanic earth as far as the eye could see. Being that close to the sky is dizzying - and Lassen isn’t even that tall compared to her sisters! It left an impression on me, and gave me a beautiful sense of perspective. Mountains care as much about you as the ants that crawl on their stoic faces, and yet they offer so much beauty to our landscapes and views. It was a blessing to be able to see the world from the top of it.
